Thanks for your critique of the final section of this essay. The point of this section is not to conflate my experience to illegal hysterectomies. My intention is to provide context for any reader who is unaware of how common medical assault is in immigrant communities, queer communities, and BIPOC communities. If that was unclear, then hopefully this comment can clarify that. As writers we do our best to communicate our thoughts, but things can still get misunderstood.
